The Clayton County Board of Health will be performing breast exams on women over 40 all day at our Forest Park Health Center. From 3-6 p.m., clients that have been written WH Medicaid or any other survivors are invited back for a “Survivors Social.”
In 2003, it is estimated that 5,400 Georgia women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Approximately 1000 will lose their lives from breast cancer. Routine screening can prevent approximately 15 to 30 percent of deaths from breast cancer among women over 40 years of age. On October 15, Breast Cancer Prevention and Awareness Day, women are encouraged to get screened or make an appointment for their yearly screening.
